In a televised address, former Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn said his resignation was vital for achieving the reforms necessary for sustainable peace and democracy in Ethiopia.
Desalegn’s announcement follows nationwide anti-government protests.
Now Ethiopia’s parliament is planning to hold talks after the sudden resignation of the prime minister.
