Foreign direct investment in Saudi Arabia had already fallen to historically low levels before Jamal Khashoggi went missing.
But since the allegations of his murder, many multinational companies and individuals say they’re not going to a Saudi investment summit due to be held in Riyadh next week.
Last week, Christine Lagarde, head of the International Monetary Fund, said she was still going to Saudi Arabia even though she was ‘horrified’ at the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi. Now her office says her trip is being ‘deferred.’
