A few months ago the future of the Winter Olympics seemed bleak as Calgary became the latest city to abandon a bid to host the games.
Unpopularity with voters meant the two remaining bids also looked in danger of pulling out.
But a new approach to bring back momentum to Sweden’s bid for the 2026 Winter Olympics may save both taxpayers’ money and the games.
