Turkish crime scene investigators spent more than nine hours examining the premises of the Saudi consul general’s residence in Istanbul.
“Samples” were recovered from the scene, sources in the prosecutor’s office said without elaborating.
They were looking for clues about what happened to Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi who disappeared in Saudi Arabia’s consulate in Istanbul on October 2.
Al Jazeera’s Jamal Elshayyal reports from Istanbul.
