The US Senate has passed a new budget bill, but that still has to get approval from the House of Representatives as the government shutdown continues.
US politicians are working through the pre-dawn hours trying to reopen the federal government.
Congress missed a midnight deadline to pass legislation, which would have freed up money to keep the government fully running for another six weeks.
