For decades, Russians have both laughed and despaired at the inadequacies of their system while also struggling to accept the same kind of criticism from foreigners. And when Russia decided to hold a mirror to the west’s own imperfections, including by setting up this channel, it turned out that western tolerance to criticism is even lower.
