Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced additional financial support for people affected by floods in the worst-hit regions in Victoria and Tasmania.
“In recognition of the number of home owners affected in particular LGA’s, a one-off non-means tested, Australian government disaster recovery payment of $1,000 per eligible adult and $400 per eligible child is available to people,” he said.
Mr Albanese said the payments will be made available to people in Greater Shepparton, Maribyrnong, Mitchell and Strathbogie councils in Victoria and multiple councils in Tasmania.
