Independent MP Zoe Daniel says there are starting to be “indications” from the federal government that there will be “action of some kind” on energy prices in the next few weeks.
“I’ve been pushing really strongly for a windfall tax on gas profits, fixing up of the system of revenue from gas taxes more broadly and potentially the idea of a gas reservation policy or something to take the pressure off both business and consumers who are struggling to pay their bills,” she told Sky News Australia.
