Close to three million Singaporeans will be voting for a new president on Friday.
The role is mainly ceremonial and supposed to be non-political.
But this election is the first to be contested in more than a decade.
And some think it could become a referendum on the government’s record, following several scandals and frustrations at the high cost of living.
