Leading ‘No’ campaigner Warren Mundine says the upcoming Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum is one of the “most important” in Australia’s history.
Mr Mundine said it would be a choice between Australia being a liberal democracy where “all are equal” and “united”, or a nation where people are “divided” by race.
“The second pathway is the agenda of the Uluru Statement authors,” he said during a National Press Club conference on Tuesday.
Mr Mundine said the referendum also presents “choices” for Indigenous Australians.
“Do we want our traditional nations, our mobs, made into one harmonious group or do we want to be segregated again as a race of people in the Constitution?”
