Influential European nations are setting a deadline for President Nicolas Maduro to call new elections in Venezuela.
Spain, Germany, France, and Britain say if he doesn’t do so within eight days, they’ll recognise Juan Guaido as the interim president.
The United States has increased diplomatic pressure to replace Maduro at an emergency session of the UN Security Council.
Maduro’s received the backing of Russia, China, Turkey and Mexico at an emergency session of the UN Security Council.
