The UN’s top court, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), will hear Israel’s response to a case brought by South Africa calling for Israel to halt its offensive in Rafah in the Gaza war.

The court is already considering a case brought by South Africa in January accusing Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza.

Israel has rejected the claim as false and “grossly distorted”.

Meanwhile, there has been further calls for Israel to allow more aid into Gaza by reopening the Rafah crossing.
