BJP sitting MP from North West Delhi constituency, Udit Raj, on April 24 joined Congress in the presence of party chief Rahul Gandhi. This comes after BJP picked singer Hans Raj Hans in place of Udit, who had warned he would leave the party if denied ticket. Speaking to Tiranga TV , Udit said, ‘BJP forced me to leave the party. I was the best performing MP as per the internal survey carried out by BJP and yet I was denied ticket, which means BJP forced me to exit.” Citing possible reasons of why he was denied ticket, Udit said, “I have always been uncompromising on the issues of women and Dalits.” Further, he said the BJP was an anti-Dalit party.
