43.4% of India is reeling under drought, we are witnessing the lowest levels of pre-monsoon showers in last 65 years and nearly 70% of our water is contaminated. the acute water shortage hit headlines when a major city like Chennai saw fights break out over water shortages and bathing became a luxury.. So far the Government has promised piped water to all households by 2024 and put together a new ministry called Jal Shakti to implement this and other projects..
