A group of top international virologists have dismissed rumours that humans somehow created the deadly strain of coronavirus that has killed over two thousand people around the world, mostly in China where authorities have ordered lockdowns in major cities. The report written by scientists from respected institutes such as Columbia University, the University of Sydney and Scripps Research, points to crucial genetic clues indicating the virus could not have been made in a laboratory, despite widely debunked claims that a research centre in Wuhan, near the epicentre of the outbreak, could be involved.
