Donald Trump has called Kanye West a “seriously troubled man” after he received criticism for meeting with the disgraced rapper last week.
The ‘Stronger’ singer claimed he asked Trump to be his vice president and said he was “most perturbed” at the suggestion.
Ye brought far-right activist Nick Fuentes to the meeting at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday.
The former US president said he was not aware of who Nick Fuentes was or that the white nationalist was going to be at the dinner with West.
“So I help a seriously troubled man, who just happens to be black Ye (Kanye West), who had been decimated in his business and virtually everything else, and who had always been good to me, by allowing his request for a meeting at Mar-a-Lago, alone, so that I can give him very much needed ‘advice,’” Trump said on ‘Truth Social’.
West came under fire last month, losing a lucrative partnership with Adidas over his online anti-Semitic rants which also got him suspended from Instagram and Twitter.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk has since reinstated the rapper’s account.
