Dogs, cats, goats, and even a donkey found refuge from the raging Camp Fire that has scorched parts of California, thanks to a local resident who took them off the streets into a sheltered haven in Chico, California.
Dan Sauvageau, a 39-year-old developer from Roseville, California, was ‘recruited’ by the county’s animal protection services when they saw him evacuating animals he found on the streets with a livestock trailer.
