Twenty-two Greenlander children were taken to Denmark’s capital Copenhagen for a social experiment 70 years ago.
Today, only six of them are alive and little is known about the others.
One of the survivors, Helene Thiesen, is still seeking answers about why they were forced to take part in the project. She hopes the Danish government will confront the country’s past abuses against the Arctic Island’s Indigenous community.
Al Jazeera’s Hashem Ahelbarra speaks to Thiesen in Copenhagen, Denmark.
