India’s prime minister has announced an economic package worth $270bn to help farmers, small businesses and migrant workers hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
Restrictions are easing despite the biggest single-day increase in infections.
The country has also resumed services on parts of its vast railway network, which is one of the largest in the world.
That is after a seven-week shutdown which left millions of passengers stranded.
