Tourists in the Indonesian capital Jakarta have been planting mangroves in a bid to keep the city from sinking. The Indonesian government has been stepping up efforts to boost eco-tourism and attract public interest in mangrove restoration. Due to severe flooding and massive groundwater extraction, Jakarta has been rapidly sinking more than 15cm (6in) per year.
