Iraq has warned the Middle East is now on the “brink of the abyss” following US airstrikes on Iranian-linked targets in Syria and Iraq.
According to the Iraqi Prime Minister, the offensive has killed 16 people including civilians.
The US launched strikes on 85 targets in Iraq and Syria in response to the drone attack on the US Tower 22 military base in Iraq killing three American soldiers and many more wounded by a drone in Jordan.
The US blames an Iran-backed militia group for the fatal attack last Sunday.
Iran has denied involvement in the fatal attack on US troops.
