The Harry Potter author did not hold back after being reported to UK police for ‘misgendering’ a news anchor.
India Willoughby alleged to Byline TV that JK Rowling had “definitely committed a crime”.
Rowling hit back, saying that free speech was protected under British law — and suggesting that Willoughby’s “obsessive targeting” of her constituted defamation and harassment.
JK Rowling and India Willoughby have been locked in a war of words on social media for more than a year.
In January last year India Willoughby posted on X, “I’m more of a woman than JK Rowling will ever be.”
