For South Koreans separated from family in the North, chances of being reunited with them have grown slim amid heightened relations between the two sides and the pandemic. Families divided by the Korean war could enter a lucky draw to participate in government-arranged reunion events, with 21 such events held between 2000 and 2018. But with heightened regional tensions and Covid-19 restrictions, a reunion any time soon has become less likely.
