On the debate tonight, we will discuss the mangroves in our city. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) destroyed over 4,500 mangroves to construct a bridge. After pressure was mounted by activists, the NHAI has been asked to replant the trees.
Posing various dangers to the environment, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) decided to fell 4,500 mangrove trees to facilitate the construction of a bridge. Owing to constant pressure from activists and environmentalists, the authorities decided to take action against the NHAI.
