North Korean foreign vice-minister Pak Myong-ho hosted a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Sun Weidong, in the capital Pyongyang on January 26, 2024, as the two countries marked 75 years of diplomatic ties. During the meeting, both sides agreed to prioritise bilateral ties. It came as North Korea test-fired multiple cruise missiles off its east coast, including a newly developed submarine-launched cruise missile, with leader Kim Jong-un overseeing the latest missile tests.
