North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has threatened to further develop the country’s nuclear programme and introduce a “new strategic weapon” soon, according to state media on January 1, 2020. Kim’s remarks come amid tensions with the US, which did not respond to North Korean calls for concessions before the reopening of negotiations between the two countries.
