Nine days after the police siege of Hong Kong’s Polytechnic University started, management entered the campus on November 26 to persuade remaining protesters to leave.University Vice President Alexander Wai Ping-kong said the school talked to police and the force agreed not to immediately arrest protesters when they left the site.The government set up a police safety group to deal with the situation in PolyU and said it would deploy the team only if the school failed to break the deadlock.
