Public servants will be given the option to work on Anzac Day following the government’s reversal of Coalition policy introduced last year.
Defence Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles says the Opposition “seeking to politicise Anzac Day is sad” following the Coalition’s criticism of the change.
“There are a number of public servants that need to work on Anzac Day in order to facilitate the very Anzac Day ceremonies which we have,” Mr Marles told Sky News Australia.
“It’s not something to be politicised – we’re completely committed to the sanctity of Anzac Day.”
