Egypt has rejected Israel’s proposal to jointly coordinate the reopening and management of the Rafah crossing between Sinai and Gaza. This decision comes after Israel’s recent seizure of the Gaza side of the crossing. Egypt insists that, in accordance with existing agreements, the Gaza side should be managed solely by Palestinian authorities.

Reporting live from Amman, Jordan, Al Jazeera’s Imran Khan covers the developments, following Israel’s shutdown of Al Jazeera’s operations within its borders. Joining the live coverage from Montreal is Mouin Rabbani, a Middle East analyst and co-editor of the online magazine Jadaliyya.
