The Spanish women’s football team has apologised for a viral video showing players laughing during an attempt to perform a haka dance. The team is in New Zealand preparing for the 2023 Women’s World Cup. The Dutch team also drew criticism from a similar incident earlier. The haka originates from New Zealand’s Maori culture as a way to show the tribe’s strength.
