Sudan fighting: Up to 125,000 people are expected to cross over to South Sudan

Fighting in Sudan has prompted a wave of people to seek sanctuary in neighbouring countries.

According to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, “hundreds of thousands” are expected to flee the country.

Around 14,000 people, the majority South Sudanese citizens, have already arrived in South Sudan, a UN spokesperson told AFP on Saturday.

Shortages of food, water, medicines and fuel are becoming extremely acute, especially in Khartoum and surrounding areas, according to the UN.
ith more and more residents of Khartoum fleeing the fighting, and shops and other services almost completely shut down, fuel shortages are growing worse.
