Alex Batty was found by chiropractor Fabien Accidini at 3am on a “middle of nowhere” road near Toulouse, France, six years after he disappeared.
The British boy had lived in a series of communes with his mother and grandfather, with limited access to the outside world, since the age of 11.
Alex is now expected to travel back to Oldham, Greater Manchester, to be reunited with his grandmother, who has said she “can’t wait” to finally see him again.
