There are so may dimensions to the war in Syria that it may be worthwhile to see it as not just one but many conflicts at once. It not only reignited the dynamics of the original Cold War, pitting Russia against the United States, but also fuelled what many regional experts refer to as the Arab Cold War, an indirect but unrelenting rivalry between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Is Syria still central to the future balance of power in the region? To discuss this, Oksana is joined by Randa Slim, a Director at the Middle East Institute.
