Western Australia Premier Mark McGowan says since his state didn’t “sell off” electricity assets the government can help families with cost of living relief.
He said Western Australia is in a “far better position than the eastern states” on gas.
“In New South Wales they sell their electricity assets, it was all meant to mean there wouldn’t be any debt,” Mr McGowan told Sky News Australia.
“New South Wales has what? Got $150 billion of debt climbing rapidly, we got debt going down.
“We didn’t sell our electricity assets, we’re in significant surplus, we can help families.”
