A woman has died after severe thunderstorms battered south-east Queensland, causing widespread damage.
The woman in her 50s died after she was struck by a tree at Helensvale at around 9.30pm on Monday.
Wind gusts up to 106 kilometres per hour were recorded at Gold Coast Seaway and in parts of the Darling Downs.
More than 120,000 properties were left without power at the height of the storm, with hundreds still affected.
The Gold Coast, the Scenic Rim and Logan appeared to be the worst hit with residents of Coomera, Pacific Pines and Eagleby reporting significant damage.
