Tens of thousands of supporters of Sri Lanka’s deposed Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe have protested on Tuesday in the capital, Colombo, as political turmoil on the island enters its fifth day.
United National Party (UNP) members protested outside the PM’s official residence, where Wickremesinghe has remained since President Maithripala Sirisena replaced him last week with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Al Jazeera’s Bernard Smith reports from Colombo.
